Bruce Beaver

(1923 - 2004), Australian poet. Before devo ted himself entirely to writing, worked as a clerk, a farmer, jou rnalist and proofreader. In the years 1958 - 1962 he lived in New Zealand and Norfolk Island. His first poem was a reaction to the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, and Beaver has written virtually for life. The marriage enabled him to keep up with the money his wife and total dedication to writing. Did not prevent him in it even with bipolar disorder - a mental disorder for which he suffered.
